SE Asian Green Building Rating Tools
The Singapore Green Mark Scheme
Developed by the Singapore Government's Building and Construction Authority, the Green Mark system has been in place now for 4 years and has over 100 Certified buildings. The system has both mandatory (legislative) and voluntary requirements. In April 2008, it became mandatory for all new buildings or works on existing buildings exceeding 2,000sq.m in floor area to achieve a minimum GREENMARK Certified rating in Singapore. There are a variety of tools:

The assessment criteria cover the following key areas:-
* Energy Efficiency
* Water Efficiency
* Environmental Protection
* Indoor Environmental Quality
* Other Green Features and Innovation

The Green Mark scheme has 37 credits that relate to products and that ecospecifier SE Asia assesses against.
1.3 credits require the Singapore Environment Centre's Green Label Certification and these can also be found on ecospecifier SE Asia.

The Malaysian Green Building Index(GBI)
GBI is developed by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and
the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM). It is a profession driven initiative to lead the Malaysian property industry towards becoming more environmentally-friendly.
The Malaysia Green Building Confederation (MGBF) supports, promotes and provides input to the GBI.
Tools are available for both Non-residential and Residential buildings
Buildings will be awarded the GBI Malaysia rating based on 6 key criteria:
- Energy Efficiency
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Sustainable Site Planning and Management
- Materials and Resources
- Water Efficiency
- Innovation
BERDE - Under development by the Philippines Green Building Council.
The Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence Program (BERDE Program).
It is currently under development within the PHILGBC by the Technical Working Group known as The BERDE Development Team (DT). The BERDE- DT released the Development Guidelines v 0.0.3 in July 2009 for comment and held stakeholder reviews in Sept 09.
The Concept document states that BERDE will consider:
- Efficient utilization and management of energy and water consumption
- Energy and water conservation
- Sustainable site selection
- Utilization of greener materials
- Solid waste management
- Improvement of indoor environment
- Preservation of cultural contexts and
- Building operations and management
